Where aluminium 6082 is used

What to know before specifying it
6082-T6 is the UK's default structural aluminium: a third of steel's density with usable strength. Watch two numbers: elastic modulus of 70 GPa (a third of steel - identical loads deflect three times more) and thermal expansion double that of steel, which matters in mixed-material assemblies.
